Utility Emergency Planning and Assessment

Risk Resiliency has over 10 years’ experience with Utility Crisis and Emergency Management Planning. We can support your business with the planning, preparedness, response, and recovery of your utility in a time of crisis. Our approach includes the following key phases:

Discovery

Thorough discovery comes through meeting the people, understanding the unique aspects of your business and reviewing the existing documentation against a standardized set of assessment criteria clearly articulated in a findings and recommendations report. We can then support you on conducting a J-100 or similar Federal compliant threat and hazard assessment that identifies your utility threats and hazards.

Planning

After discovery we will take the findings and develop a comprehensive Emergency Response plan that is AWWA G440-22 compliant and meets the industry standard. Throughout this process we can ensure compliance with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and conformity to the any local or state Emergency Response Planning requirements (where applicable).

Team Building

All great plans need a well developed and trained team. Risk Resiliency can help your utility develop a team roster and ensure team members are adequately trained and have access to future training opportunities. We can ensure appropriate personnel are identified for critical roles and ready to respond.

Training

All utilities have some chemical hazard exposure. Risk Resiliency is available to support your utility with Spill Response planning, response, and training support programs (1910.120), this can include just the plan development to meet standard requirements and include training and exercises to test the planning assumptions.
