Paul Moxness

Senior Director

Formerly Vice President Corporate Safety and Security, Paul Moxness had a 31-year career with Radisson Hotel Group. His work took him to over 60 countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia. He oversaw development of corporate and operational training programs including Crisis Management, Travel Safety, Challenging Environment Pre-deployments, and General Manager Certification.

Paul led the development of a threat- and risk-based formula for safety and security that could be applied at any hotel in any location, regardless of size, internal organization or brand affiliation and a self-assessment system to support hotels in the strategic follow-up of their preparedness. His efforts were rewarded with a Carlson Fellow, the highest individual honor the company gave for leadership, dedication, and results. His security industry peers selected him the IFSEC #1 Global Influencer.

His collaboration with government and non-government organizations includes contributing to the Global Counter Terrorism Forum Antalya Memorandum on protection of soft targets, the OSAC white paper on best practices for crisis management and evacuation as well as representing the European hotel industry organization in the Operator’s Forum of the EU Action Plan for Improved Protection of Public Spaces. In June 2019, he addressed the UN Security Council Counter Terrorism Committee on local engagement and public private partnership for protection of soft targets.

Paul produces an active Substack newsletter (https://alwayscare.substack.com/) sharing authentic stories from 30-years of hotel, hospitality, and customer service experience around the world and lessons learned at the “University of Life”.

And he’s also an author and lecturer on topics related to AI in the service industry. Paul’s book, Spin the Bottle Service, written with his wife Kirsten Moxness, was published by How2Conquer.
